Dr. Basab Chakraborty

Dr Chakraborty obtained his PhD degree from IIT Madras in 1999 with a specialization in Surface Science and Catalysis. Between 1999 and 2012, he served the R&D effort of the India’s industry leader of Energy storage. He has rich experience in process development and applied research in the organization. He has been with IIT Kharagpur since January 2013.

His research interests include energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, new material for energy storage, renewable energy management & networking, relevance of smart grid in the Indian perspective, smart meter data analytics, electric vehicle.
